Dawkins is Wrong: So says a genius

Tuesday, February 24th, 2009

geniusChristopher Michael Langan is a genius whose IQ was measured at 195 (Einstein’s was 150) as pointed out in the bestseller Outliers, The Story of Success by Malcolm Gladwell. We all have heard of Einstein and Steven Hawking but few other than those who read Outliers knew of Langan.

Because Langan does not have the typical “union card” of college degrees, for a long time his incredible views on the universe were not taken seriously. I want to do my part to help change this. I just re-read Langan’s Cognitive-Theoredic Model of the Universe, CTMU, for the upteenth time. Wow! It is a fantastic treatment of science, logic, mathematics, and philosophy.

Worlds in Upheaval

Tuesday, February 24th, 2009

Worlds in UpheavalIn my next radio show I was thinking of focusing on: Science in Upheaval. Then I realized the bigger issue is that the world is in upheaval. In additional to science, our world economies, world infrastructure and interconnectedness is presenting challenges, our worldview of mind and brain is being turned upside down, and our health care system is in disarray. Are these inter-related? Can one approach help resolve all of them?

I decided to devote a program to “Worlds in Upheaval” and describe what the 21st century offers us. We will explore the thesis of a New York Times bestseller and several publications.

Are cells like this tower?

Only a few decades ago so-called New Age advocates believed life emitted  energy or an “aura” and of course scientists and the public chastised them for such a ridiculous belief. Then a UCLA professor found that the energy from various environments such as the sea shore or a mountain top affects our mental state. This concept also was rejected. Today we know that both of these phenomena are supported by science. However, until recently a scientific plausible explanation was missing.

Just how can life especially a simple single cell be a broadcaster and receiver of universal energy? In 2007, researchers at the University of California at Berkeley discovered that a single molecule can be an AM reciever (and by analogy a broadcaster). This not only opens a whole new world of potential applications, I believe that it also might explain the unique qualities and requirements for life!

Mind for healing

For two decades I have been lobbying for clinical trials which would enable people to couple the power of the mind with modern medicine.  New studies reported in the scientific literature tackle the issue of healing utilizing the mind which I believe is the beginning of a new age in wellness.
